About me.
Consultancy
I provide behavioural science, research and policy expertise to non-profit and for-profit clients who want to improve diversity, health and financial well-being. I am based in the Netherlands, but also work for clients in other parts of the world (hello Zoom!).
Previously, I co-founded the Consumer Behaviour Expert team at the Dutch financial regulator AFM - one of the first and biggest behavioural insights teams in the Netherlands. I have also worked with consultancies and NGO’s in Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
A million years ago, I studied development economics and behavioural finance at the University of Cambridge.

Academia
I am a PhD candidate at the Marketing Department of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Under the supervision of prof. dr. ir. Peeter Verlegh and prof. dr. Marcel Zeelenberg, I study the acceptance of behavioural public policy interventions. When do the recipients of interventions find these nudges acceptable? When and why are they deemed manipulative? We are particularly interested in the occurrence of reactance: when people resist attempts to guide their behaviour.
